The Monsoon Cross Country teams begin their seasons at the Cerritos Great Cow Run this Saturday (9/3).

Mayfair runners will be looking for strong performances against high-caliber competition on the flat and fast course. The Freshman Boys will start things off with the first gun at 8:00 am, followed by the Freshman Girls at 8:30 am.

The Varsity Boys and and Varsity Girls will hit the start line at 9:00 and 9:30 am respectively, with the Sophomore Boys (10:00 am), Sophomore Girls (10:30 am), JV Boys (11:00 am), and JV Girls (11:30 am) after.

An assortment of dual meets and invitationals, highlighted by a race against Avalon High School on Catalina Island (9/9) and the historic Mt. Sac Invite (10/22), are dispersed throughout the seasons to prepare for the Suburban League Meets.

The Soons will look to score major points at the first league meet (9/29) and the second league meet (10/13) in order to put themselves in the best position for the Suburban League Finals (11/03), which is worth twice as many points.

Last season the Monsoon Varsity Girls team qualified for the CIF-SS Prelims after a fourth place League Finals finish secured a fourth place Suburban League finish.

After a sixth place finish in the Suburban League last season, the Boys Varsity team will look to improve this year in order to qualify for the CIF-SS Prelims.
