The Mayfair girls tennis season came to an end with a tiebreaker loss to the Sante Fe Chiefs in the wild card round of the division 4 CIF playoffs.

After three rounds of competitive sets, the Monsoons and Chiefs were tied at 9-9, forcing a tiebreaker. In each round Mayfair’s double’s teams went 2-1 while the singles went 1-2. The teams of Marinel Chrisostomo/Mia Le and Rosa Chavez and Jainah Fajardo, who went 3-0, led the Monsoons while Brianna Figueroa went 3-0 in singles play.

In the tiebreaker, Mayfair was narrowly defeated by the score of 66-73 to bring a close to the 2016 season. The Monsoons finished the team season second in league, with Marinel Chrisostomo and Mia Le placing third in doubles at the league finals and Brianna Figueroa taking the singles title.

Brianna Figueroa qualified for CIF individually, playing next on November 21.
